It's 2.5 years later, the laws are still difficult to enforce, and people still don't realize how much damage cyber bullies like walkerd/Orgonon/etc. and the villains in that article can do. They are the virtual equivalent of Unibombers.

The stalker/bully from the beginning has attempted to divide the Susan Boyle community. His modus operandi has been to present half truths taken out of context and accompanied by incorrect inferences and conclusions. The most dreadful example of this is the joke about DJGers buying ew at the auction to take it over, and the extreme paranoia that generated, with the damaging results on July 18 and later. Every time we try to focus on him, distractions & red herrings arise, and we begin squabbling among ourselves--just what he's trying to accomplish. In another venue, he bragged about "bringing down" an Elton John site, and said he wanted to do that at ew.

That is my concern about the new anonymous site. The author is not revealing his/her real identity, transcripts are taken out of context, and inaccurate conclusions are drawn. While the blogger may well be on the side of truth, this means of communicating follows the cyberbully/cyberstalker's pattern. Lchris addresses this problem of miscommunication that has occurred in the most recent susaleak blog; you can read her post on our site. It would be easier for her to let the post stand, and collude in adding more hatred towards ew staff, but that is not in her nature. Truth is.

The real enemy is not other Susan fans; it is the kind of person revealed in that article.

That last sentence is key. I think that for people like the cyberbully who has repeatedly caused problems for the Susan Boyle fan community, the problem is that they have no empathy, no real understanding of or desire to understand, their fellow human beings. That's sad. It is also terrifying.

It's scary to know that there are so many people who enjoy causing mayhem in the world and in people's lives. As you say Dyebat "and Weep" and one feels that powerless in the face of this level of venom that all one can do is weep. Thanks for posting one also has to know and confront these things too.

Very good article thank you for bringing this. It is interesting that there are people arriving joy from a persons pain. Something is sick in that. Though I wonder cyber bullies seem to feed on people on the excitement they create, I wonder what the difference is of a cyber bully and a con artist? Empathy is a human reaction and I also wonder when empathy is exploited. The Internet seems to be a a sport for people.

People have attempted to 'bully' me on sites etc. They're sick and I pay them no mind (as we say). I pity them for their 'illness' ...but then I am older and much wiser than some of the 'children' and 'young people' who fall prey to this cyberbullying.

We had 'cell phone bullying' of teens in our small school out in the boonies. Girls in the same class....

I've learned a lot since Susan Boyle came 2nd in BGT and friend sent me the video clip. A whole new world has been opened up to me and I DO visit it - but I have a REAL life too....which is much, much more important to me.

Not that one wants to get paranoid or anything but with that lunatic cyber/stalker/bully loose, isn't it better that we make sure that the blogger is not him/her?

Well, considering that he/she takes it with ew, I would think it's up to them in the first place to find that out.

But actually it's in everyone's interest to know at least if it's the Dementor or not.

Cyber bullies, cyber stalkers, dementors - rules, regulations, bannings, flame wars, overzealous members - objective and subjective interpretations of posts and actions, hurt feelings all the way around - ALL of this is perhaps an excellent reminder as to why it's important to keep these internet interactions in perspective, and not let them take precedence over our real lives. It's nice to see my friend Ammo back, and making that point so well.
