So what will the excuse be?? What reason will TinkyKalua give for abandoning the not-for-profit status? Will they say that the IRS would not allow it? Or will they claim that it is not doable, or it is too complicated. Whatever the reason, rest assured, it IS coming. All you have to do is look at what is going on over there. They have turned into a really BUSY bunch. We have a moderator running a logo contest. We have another moderator opening up a store AND a mall! There are suggestions for t-shirts, cups, posters, and who knows what else.

In regard to PickledTink, isn't it interesting that she AND stevieboy have been fountains of misinformation; even though they practically LIVE in Susan's house and have their connections with Joanne and Andy. They have been wrong about dates of cd releases, number of cds, types of music on the cds. Plus you have PT spouting off her psychobabble about gift giving and why or why not Susan does the things she does. I think those tight shoes she is renting is cutting off circulation to her brain! One must ask, why does she give out so much misinformation?

They give out misinformation because it keeps the members off-guard and begging for more info. By doling out little bits here and there and holding many things secret, they maintain power. Or at least the illusion of it.

Take the presentation of the 167th quilt, for instance. To this very moment, the Tink person and her croonies [sic] are pretending that they have no idea when, where or even if they are going to give Susan the latest quilt. What they haven't told the members is that they have secretly arranged to take a delegation to Susan's house sometime in the next few days for a private presentation. Randma crowed about that on Facebook, then took her post down within minutes. Why are they lying? For many reasons, including their desire to have a big "event" with new photos of Susan to slake the members' thirst for "news".

Now, on some matters I'm sure they have been given the wrong information, either intentionally or accidentally because Susan's plans changed. Susan's team might have their reasons for not giving a bunch of intrusive fans accurate information about her upcoming projects. It is a business, after all, and they have to control what is released and when. It could be that the SBFII gang are nowhere near as deeply connected to Susan's team as they would have us believe.

The good thing is that if one lets go of the illusion that the info is correct one begins not to care.
I have decided not to be a hostage to info. We have freedom to chose and not too. I do not care who gives a quilt when and why. I do not care how many quilts or who gets to present. Oh what freedom that is ...Smile

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they ditch the entire nonprofit concept; it wouldn't be that difficult (in the legal sense) to convert SBFII to a for-profit corporation and set up a board of directors of their own choosing (no one who would ask any impertinent questions or offer unwanted suggestions, of course!). Clearly for at least some of them over there it's about the money.....and they wouldn't want to have to keep up the charade of donating to charity and all that nonsense, never mind also having to pretend that there is genuine accountability there. By disbanding the nonprofit, though, I'm not sure whether in a legal sense that relieves them of their obligation to repay those who lent them the funds to purchase the website in the first place. I also think they run the risk of losing even more members than they already have been, inasmuch as some of the Faithful would be disillusioned and not so ready to swallow the concept of a for-profit organization as easily as they embraced the idea of a non-profit one.

So what's this about setting up a store AND a mall? I vaguely remember mention of this a while back. Has it come to fruition now? What's in this "mall?"

As for selling logo-imprinted merchandise, I wonder if they realize that in order to do that they'll need to make an investment -- ie, spend money -- in order to purchase the initial lot of stuff to sell? Where will they get that money?

Wouldn't you think that after a while the Faithful who hang on to every word, every photo of a visit to Susan's home would start to wonder about the appropriateness (or rather, inappropriateness) of this? And that some might begin to wonder just how it is that only a certain few seem to be the ones chosen time after time to make such visits? I'm sure that the group accompanying Randma and Tink to Susan's home will be the usual few, the ones who go to every Susan event, the ones who donate to every gift, every project.....We could probably all name them, easy-peasy.

Frankly, I hope that this is the LAST such fan invasion into Susan's personal territory and that either Susan puts her foot down and says, "enough is enough!" or that Andy does. Sure, there is the risk of alienating some of the fans by saying "no more gifts, no more home visits or urgings that Susan attend a M&G or luncheon," but sooner or later they've got to set the boundaries, draw the line very firmly. At this point everything has become much more about the fans and their ability to penetrate Susan's life and invade her home than it is about Susan herself. For what? Bragging rights on the part of the fans? So this is going to magically elevate a few of them to a status superior to other fans who have quietly remained at home and whose only contact with the star is through Susan's CDs and the televised appearances and the autobiography?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Andy and the rest of Susan's team are thoroughly sick of this whole bunch and that they'd like nothing more to do with them at all.

It takes an non profit organization to get their tax number in a matter of weeks. Which means they either never filed for it or were denied as Susan isn't a charity. The last financial reports are wrong.

Hahahaha they even started the SuBo Gazette..what the hell for?

Wonder about the laws in the State of Delaware where the NPO was set up. Are they following those laws. ??

That I cannot answer, but anyone who is from Delaware can answer it. LOL I do believe they're not following any rules, oh wait maybe they are under the International commissions of Data Protection? Anyone who believes this is a real thing needs to be taken for a fool.

The Laws of Delaware for a NPO are saved on this forum as I brought them here. We are not as dumb as SBFII may think. Smile

They already have: Susan Boyle Fans International, Incorporated.

Right now they are operating as a nonprofit entity but do not have tax-exempt status, which is an additional step which must be taken, and clearly they haven't taken it because, yeah, they don't exactly fit into the normal categories that tax-exempt organizations do, and Susan is certainly not a charity!
