PostSubject: SBFII Removes Active Members Number!   Sat Jun 18, 2011 12:13 am

So, the powers that be at SBFII have decided to do something about the falling active members number which has gone from 1700 to 867 in 18 months. They took the active members number OFF the main page! Well, I guess it is better to follow the adage, "Out of sight, out of mind"! Kudos to the administration for hiding the shame of a near 50% drop in active members! Good job! No No No No No

Reminder of the numbers that matter:
MEMBERS-5338-includes all that joined and NEVER posted, plus those that left but do not come off the member list.
ACTIVE MEMBERS-867
ELIGIBLE VOTERS-285
ACTUAL VOTERS-153

Kind of like they say that the best way to find out how much something is worth is to list it for sale and see what kind of offers you get . . . . seems to me the best way to determine active membership is straight from the horse's mouth, based on the members they themselves feel are active enough to deserve voting rights. That number, if I recall, was more like 250, give or take. But that would be consistent with the number of people who actually post over there in any meaningful way. They can fudge the numbers all they want, but they've actually revealed their active membership numbers.

And 867 looks better than 285, which looks better than 153. Their active member number has never reflected reality so it makes no difference that they removed it. Though one does get the sense that they knew a steep drop was in the offing and decided to hide it.

I'm actually surprised it took them this long to figure that out and remove the active member number.

This will actually be my last graph, the one with elimination of the "corrections" applied from time to time... Shocked Shocked

It's a surprisingly regular downgrade...

True Boss. We know that members there have asked to be removed from their membership list, and Kalua nixed THAT idea in the Hotel SBFII California! ( Or is it Chile?)

Since the administration has decided to NOT post the number of ACTIVE members, we will start posting the next best thing to demonstrate the actual amount of ACTIVE members. That would be number of members online at given times. We will attempt to post three different times, late morning, late afternoon-evening, and late night-early morning.
So, to begin:
6-18, late night---92 members online

Fudge, please channel your energy to our forum Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy , there is a simpler way to do this: just copy here the Who-is-on-line graph at the end of each month.

Here today's values over the last month, max daily max visitors: 112... Sad Sad Sad

Wait a minute. That would mean that even during that annual meeting hootenanny they didn't have anywhere near the number of eligible members online, or even the much lower number of actual voters. That sure doesn't show much enthusiasm from the remaining members, does it?

It is Father's day and Sunday, some of these ladies have kids and they might be over at their son's or SILs house for a brunch. At least that's what we are doing. We go to my MILs house each year. 13 years of this crap.

Sassy--this number is their normal number for online at that time. On average, they are between 80-110 during the day and evening, EDT. From midnight to 6AM it drops from 80 to about 40. The other 5,200 members MUST be hiding somewhere! laughfloor laughcry laughfloor laughcry laughfloor

Ha ha ha!!! Get used to it Sassy! Mr. LEM refers to Mother's Day and Father's Day as "Grandmother's Day" and "Grandfather's Day" respectively.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The Statistic and Chart Committee of Susahumor Forum, has decided to change the bylaw for online members numbers reporting. The old bylaw, rule # 54996A stated that the count would be reported 3 times a day. The new bylaw, rule#54996A1B now calls for the online member count to be reported once a week in the afternoon to evening, EDT.
I am now requesting of DJG, the boss here, to please add a new bylaw for Susahumor for reimbursement for all the work required collecting this data. We, on the committee, feel we need this. I have retained a lawyer, who says that we are within our rights to request this. Here he is---- Do not mess with him!

Need I add that anyone who does not appreciate your superhuman efforts to enlighten and inform them can easily find another Guest Forum more to their liking? Nobody is forcing anyone to be here, although we won't let them go if they try to leave. That is our new policy. Take it or (try to) leave it.

You cannot leave here without paying an exit fee. Please pay this direct to Fudge who will use part of it to buy a gift for DJG and the rest of it to fund his trip to present the boss with his pressie. Any funds left after this will be distributed to the nominated charity KFIF (Keep Fudge in Fudge)

Thank you for your misunderstanding in this matter.
