Why the change of gender?

From 2007:
"Don't put those eggshells in there!" the light of my life bellowed.
>
> "Huh?"
>
> He sighed and rolled his eyes in that maddening way that makes me want
> to rearrange his face.

Sounds like a woman wrote that piece. Or a gay man...... Actually, when reading the full piece it becomes pretty clear that it is a male household.

And then we have what was apparently recently posted on SBFII:

Don't put those eggshells in there!" the light of my life bellowed.

"Huh?"

She sighed and rolled her eyes in that maddening way that makes me want to rearrange her face.

Strange, isn't it? Why the change?

An interesting question, but one that he doesn't seem to want to answer.

Some of this stuff just gets "curiouser and curiouser" by the minute! We are what we are. Why this big attempt to pretend to be something else??------- Evil or Very Mad Crying or Very sad Popcorn

The gender change is somewhat confusing. It suggets to me that this was originally written by a woman, then taken by you-know-who and changed to pass off as his own. Of course they've removed the original thread entirely now, but there's still copies of the original version out there.

That was my thought, too, Boss, that the piece had been written by a woman, as there were a couple of jarring discrepancies that caught my eye. It is usually men who bellow, not women, and the talk about "rearranging" the face sounds odd (not to mention potentially abusive!). Seeing the two different versions was surprising, prompting the question, why the change in pronouns and gender. Confusing, to say the least!

Oh, the entire thread has now been removed at SBFII? Why?

Why?? Because they can't tolerate controversy EW,---any kind, any time. And I guess it's controversial to discuss sexual orientation. Even though the piece appeared previously in a public forum, it can't be discussed. We're well used to the restrictive, controlling rules of EW by now. Does the author really need to be protected?? And from what??

It couldn't have been removed because this thread was opened in the public area was it? Or is that just coincidence? I actually do find this piece very sexist.

Not that I am a literary critic, but I found the piece to be a bit too "precious," a bit too overreaching in its attempt to be clever and witty.

I felt the same. It was like a script for one of those badly-written sit-coms from the '80s. Too broadly drawn to the point that it's painful! Embarassed Crying or Very sad silent

Brings to mind the saying, "Keep your friends close, but your enemies CLOSER!" They sure did not follow that advice!

Well, while those who never come here are here reading, they may as well vote for what they'd like to hear on Susan's 4th CD! Wink

Interesting how the number of "guests" online here nearly doubled after the EW staff meeting was over.----- Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

I just think it's sad that people need to hide who they are because of percieved (probably justified at that) rejection from so-called 'good christians'.

The irony is that there is more tolerance, kindness and understanding at this 'evil' site than there ever would be there.

It was always about using other people's material, needing attention and mean and condescending comments anyway.
