| The following was posted by Moderator J (no longer on staff) on 4-24-2010 in the Staff Chat Room. "To Moderator L- We are obviously policing the PMs lately, I know I do that 6 hours every day, LOL!" In the thread about technical questions for staff, PickledTink admitted that she and the tech team HAVE ACCESS to pms! Makes what moderator J says, ALL THE MORE PLAUSIBLE!! Once again, I reiterate that NOTHING I have reported here was obtained illegally or by subterfuge!

| Wonder if that's why so many are being put on pre mod or banned for little reason? |

| Technically speaking it IS possible for PMs to be read by other than the writer and the intended recipient, but for any admin or tech person to be doing so in a current database of an active forum would be extremely unethical and dishonest. As we've all seen time and time again, there doesn't seem to be much integrity or any interest in ethical behavior on the part of the administrators or many of the moderators or, for that matter, the techs at SBFII, so this does not surprise me at all. |

| Any person can look in my PM box at EW nothing of interest in there. Does it violate the trust of members to snoop in fan members PM box ? Yes..!!!! It reminds me of a "Peeping Tom".... Is it unethical ??? Yes...!!!!! It is totally a reflection of the staff at EW not the members and not DJGers. You reap what you sow...!!! Maybe not today or tomorrow but the day will come and that is certainty in a world where not much is certain. |

Robert Francis Kennedy But it was friendly and orderly without strict discipline when it was Paul's old blog. When the MS became MF is when things started going sour. I don't remember there being a lot of rules, people used common sense. Of course it became a little jumbled as Paul would start a blog with a question and before you knew it the thread had morphed into cross talk about anything. I've participated in a number of forums, political, religious, current events...and without fail flame wars would break out over those topics. It always impressed me that the mothership was so tranquil, not confrontational. It was like no forum I'd seen. I didn't sign up for a lot of crazy rules and crazy people enforcing them. I just liked the idea of a peaceful happy message board with friendly people, no matter how different they were in real life, joined by their enthusiasm for SuBo.
With common sense and common decency people our age don't need a bunch of rules. Usually. DJG knows that and runs a tight ship and without lopping anyone's head off he maintains this loony bin full of people who think, state contrary opinions, and still remain friends. Big potato head, ya dun gud.
Fudge, I guess we're gonna swap first place back and forth. We sure looke like quilt against Texas today.

| Bear in mind that Paul's Original Blog was really only in existence for about 9 - 10 weeks (from just after 4/11/2009 to about 6/20/2009) before the Forum opened up. (yes I know, some continued to use the blog for a while after that) And really, in hindsight the forum opened up with a certain amount of strife, I recall a good number of people bitching & moaning about the Forum format, they preferred the simplicity of the blog format, blah, blah, blah - and we were off and running. |

It's a pity I missed those first weeks, just arrived at ew when the forum had started. I simply did it all on my own since the BGT audition, including the tour, what did I know about fan forums, and then: no, not for me... |

I did warn everyone what would happen. It was obvious even in the blog days that the 'personalities' (and I use that term very loosely) were starting to push their way to the front. It's just what those kind of people do. It was inevitable what would happen. |

| I bring this thread back because a member here is being accused of fabricating the fact that she received vicious PMs at SBFII. Unfortunately, she did delete the PMs. I, however, FULLY believe her. Maybe it IS questionable WHO sent the PMs, but as the opening post of this thread proves there is FULL access AND NO privacy to the PM system there! |
