Stockbridge seems tp be in Edinburgh.
When is it spying and when is it OK to post info about Susan Boyle?? Maybe there should be some clarification before some fans motives are questioned, over and over again and accusations are aimed at other forums.

| It is OK at SBFII to report every tweet about Susan's movements. That is news. But, if a DGJer reports a sighting of Susan ANYWHERE, it is spying since all evil comes from here! |

Maybe there should be some clarification before some fans motives are questioned, over and over again and accusations are aimed at other forums. I think the good neighbors in Blackburn are doing what comes naturally. Of course they keep an eye on Susan and who comes and goes from her houses, and we should be glad they do. The police and even private security can't be watching all the time. Accusations of "spying on fans" are flying, and that's incredibly stupid, even for SBFII. Strangers will get noticed in Blackburn. Especially when five of them stand on Susan's doorstep and sing Happy Birthday. Not exactly low-profile, is it? And has it ever occurred to anyone that Susan might have already had company inside? That they were interrupting a private visit by--don't freak out over this-- someone else? Some non-fan, normal, previously invited visitor(s) there to celebrate Susan's birthday with her? I suppose when fan egos are in play, the usual standards of propriety and consideration get left in the dust. Beyond the original impulse--an understandably fannish thing, beyond the snarling and backbiting on that viper-pit of a fan site--hardly a new phenomenon, the self-righteous indignation on display is out of touch with reality. Yo, people! Get your heads out of your asses and look around. You are not the center of Susan's universe! |

| So we are the evil ones. What about the birth certificate fiasco? Spying? Go read the threads in the early days of a nearby male neighbor and the things he did to get close to Susan. |

Oh, honey, those threads were shredded during Historical Rewrite III. Classified info, dontcha know. I don't think we're supposed to even know about it. |

| Yes, I've heard from a reliable source that the down to earth, somewhat hard nosed Blackburners laugh at the subo-stalkers behind their backs. They might seem friendly but they think the stalkers are a weird lot and a great source of hilarity. And yes, they know when they are around and that's where the info comes from - they don't need to spy because the stalkers are so obvious to them. |

| Uh, maybe they knew she was tired and needed some time by herself? That's what most people would assume and have the respect to stay away unless invited. Some people clearly don't care about that however - they wanted to see Susan in her house and thought up a good reason to go. |

| I love that there's such outrage over the neighbors in Blackburn who apparently reported the incident of "visitors" to Susan's house on her birthday. The anger is not over the imposition on Susan but on those who reported it. When all else fails, blame the messenger, not those who did the deed. And apparently even THAT wasn't enough to satisfy the need to switch blame. Somehow the members of this forum get to share some of the blame for this incident, though none of us were there in Blackburn nor did we make any accusations on the thread at SBFII. But according to a moderator there,---we're somehow guilty, just the same:
Originally Posted by A SBFII member: XXX, I don't know where the rumor that a group of fans were spying on Susan Boyle ever started? This is a rumor, I might add. Fans visiting Susan Boyle is a fact.
A Moderator's response: Oh, I see a rumour. Had no idea that was the case. Then, how XX did the story get fed hand over hand that SBF11 fans knocked on Susan's door and was dragged on until the DJGers got their pound of flesh; a confession of a private matter. _______________________________________________
("Confession??" Well, there,.....someone finally said the word.)
Our "pound of flesh??" Really?? I didn't realize we were over there pulling strings and manipulating that discussion. And yet, somehow we're always the convenient scapegoat to blame when things get rocky over there. I'm amazed that they have imbued us with the power to influence what goes on in their forum. As they continue to demonstrate, it's easier to blame others for your own failings than to take responsibility for them yourself. |

| One of the things that really gets to me about these so-called fans is that they haven't paid any attention to some of things she wrote about in her book. Several times she mentions walking and after her mother died it is what she did to cope and relieve some of the strain. She mentioned being in different countries for concerts and how she would like to go for a walk to clear her brain. I do this myself and do it a lot when stressed. So after touring and being very tired, I have a feeling Susan would have liked to go for a relaxing walk in her own neighborhood, but because of the roving, stalking fans she didn't dare. These are people who carry on all the time about how they love her, but yet it seems their needs come first. |

| Very thoughtful and sensitive posts made today about this forum by both Maya and Monkeytech----and very much appreciated. If there were others, I'm sorry I wasn't made aware of any but those two. I want to thank them both for what they had to say---and the tone in which it was said. |

| Agreed, WAM. Those posts and thought processes behind them are much appreciated. The bottom line here is, yes, we're all fans of Susan Boyle, and yes, we take different approaches to that, but this should not negate anyone's individual or collective regard and interest in Susan, her vocal abilities and her career. |

Yes, I also wish to express my thanks. I really do appreciate the efforts of several members. I started to post there, but figured it wasn't worth another questioning of my loyalties or motives. I'm still recovering the last attack, so for the time being I'll just lurk. |
