| Since I am relegated to only being allowed to enter SBFII as a guest, I can only access the public threads there. While doing so, I came upon an interesting chain of events in the Samples of Standing Ovation thread. While there, I noticed that one member had posted AN ACTUAL youtube video of the longer 90 second samples of Standing Ovation. At the same time, I noticed in another post that a long standing beloved member had posted that he had the longer samples too, but was waiting for permission to post them (I assume the permission he was waiting for was to come from SBFII Admin). Absolutely and positively there is no doubt that the youtube was up. Later I went back, and amazingly I noticed that everything had changed. The youtube video was no longer up, but a link was up to the beloved longtime member's site for the video. If you read subsequent posts there are a number of members expressing thanks to both contributors. How could that happen, if there is no youtube video posted there now? What on earth would those members be thanking him for? In fact, there is no reference to that youtube video till a post many pages later! And, if there is no youtube video now, why is that? Why the need to get rid of it? Could it be favoritism? You see this is what happens when all you are constantly doing is censoring here there and everywhere. You forget that there are posts that you do miss to erase. Trips you up.....every time! |

| Not to put too fine a point on it, but both of those "videos" are violations of copyright. These two fans are stealing material directly from Apple's iTunes. They are then attempting to share it publicly in other sources that are not related to Apple or iTunes at all. This is piracy. Would you visit a "torrent" site and download Susan's albums for free? Well, this isn't all that different, except that in this case the music is already available for listening absolutely free anyway, through iTunes. It is free for listening, but that doesn't mean it isn't copyrighted and licensed. It is. Everyone has a piece of the copyright pie here. For instance, on the iTunes UK store, it is clearly stated that the songs/tracks themselves are licensed to Sony Music Entertainment UK Unlimited from Simco....and subsequently the song tracks are licensed to iTunes to put in its software on its stores in many countries. In the US, whenever the material finally shows up it will be listed as licensed to Columbia Music, which is related to Sony. In each country it serves, iTunes offers song samples ranging from 30 seconds to 90 seconds (the latter is a fairly new implementation). This is one thing which sets it apart from B&N, Amazon and others. As a customer considering whether or not to buy a particular album, I love this feature. I would hate to see it ruined and removed because of thieves. Apple is not going to like the fact that not one but two different people stole material directly from their iTunes software and then put it on YouTube and Magnify.net respectively. I won't be surprised if those thefts are discovered and removed in pretty short order. Personally, I wouldn't want to mess with Apple's lawyers. They don't fool around..... In the meantime, if anyone wants to enjoy the 90-second previews of each of the songs Susan sings on her new album, just go into iTunes and have a listen. It's not that hard to shift into another country for this purpose (you wouldn't be able to purchase, but you can at least listen to the tracks). If you don't have iTunes in your computer, if you're on a Windows machine (it comes bundled with all Macs), you can easily download and install it from http://www.apple.com Don't support dishonesty, piracy and theft on the internet. Take a few moments to listen to the music where it is legitimately licensed to be played, on iTunes itself....

| Why, what did they do, remove BOTH examples of theft? Good for them if they did. After all, it really wouldn't look good for the so-called "largest" Susan Boyle forum to be actively promoting and sharing ANY examples of internet piracy from iTunes..... |

No. Both links are still in the thread. |

| Well, isn't that interesting.....they are condoning theft and dishonesty as long as it suits them and provides their members with what they want..... Heaven forfend that any Windows user should have to make an effort to download and install iTunes and then try to figure out how to get to the UK or the Denmark iTunes stores in order to listen to the song samples legitimately...... Oh, no, that is way too much trouble.....

| Surprise!! TPTB at SBFII have decided to close the thread about the Connecticut massacre. Do they not understand that life is not the rosy picture that they always want to maintain in that place? This massacre is a watershed moment in the USA. It is getting 24 hour a day coverage. People on a forum feel they are among friends and FEEL A NEED to discuss it. They keep bringing up that it is an international forum. Well, adults have the free choice NOT to read that thread or go into it! Why is it OK there to have a number of threads dealing WITH ONE RELIGIOUS VIEWPOINT?? And other threads are slowly being taken over by that one religious viewpoint?
Has anyone been noticing that the members at the site are down. They are getting 60-80 at night, 7-11 PM EST. These are terrible numbers for them. Think there might be a connection to my paragraph above? I do. |

| I usually do not post on the guest forum here. But I am compelled to say that many people are upset that thread was closed. But there are other places, such as this forum, and several other Susan forums where you can discuss. Problem on the forum you mention, is several extreme conservatives got upset, so to pacify those few, they closed the entire thread. Pretty sad a few have that power. I do not believe that only a few should be allowed to control everyone else. But that is why it was closed, IMHO. |

If they are so upset with a country being run by a commie, Muslim, Kenyan redistributor, perhaps North Korea would be more to their liking. Or is it North Koreeee? |

| A religious poem about the Conn. massacre has just been put on a public thread at SBFII!! I thought that violates a rule too. Let us not forget that at least one child was of a different religion than Christianity.

| Judy--since you asked--NO, it is NOT appropriate in a public or private thread there. You have no idea how abhorrent Jews find the thought of a Jewish child going to meet his savior!! |

| Well, the poem has been public now for over an hour and a half. Mods have been on the forum. According to everything they have said about their own rules, this is a no-brainer decision. So, what is the delay about enforcing the rule? Mods usually delete at warp speed over there! |

| Rules are only USED against people they don't like who say things they don't like. If they like what you say you can break any rule any time! |

| It seems to me that if you truly are a "religious" person that the most important thing would be to have the utmost respect for other religions. This thread at SBFII, honorably intended as it might be, shows utter disregard to the non Christians that died. In case no one noticed, the family of Noah Posner are quite devout Jews. |

I know Noah was Jewish but I am thinking there was another child and a staff member that were Jewish also but I can't remember the names right now.

| Even if there were no Jews killed, it does not matter. They are the ones always claiming that all members MUST abide by the rules. Well, that thread is against their own rules. |
