SBFII AGM 2012

Time to fill 5 board of directors posts. One departing board member, who is a mod, says that one necessity to being a board member is to be a "team player". NOOOOOOOOO! That should NOT be a qualification. Board members are there STRICTLY to represent the interests of ALL members. That often means that that board member must stand up against other board members AND staff to make sure the right decisions are made. Members ONLY protection against an aggressive and/or vindictive staff IS the board of directors. We all saw over the last couple of years the danger of having a rubber stamping board of a spiteful administration and staff!

BTW, the present board has 7 members. 3 of the 7 are members of the admin. staff as moderators. These are the people who are supposed to control and police the staff?????!!!!????

At present there 22 positions made up of; Admins, Mods, Techies, Board Members and Bookkeeper. JMHO, Board Members should not be anyone holding another position.

They're all busy sending threatening tweets to anyone they disagree with, which given their cult like status is pretty much everyone. All they're doing is making themselves look foolish (not difficult!) and potentially damaging Susan's career, as most people will think her fans are a load of old ultra-right wing religious crackpots.

I have a question (actually three) for our boss:

- how much would this site cost if it were ten times bigger? just please give me the number rounded to thousands a year...

- how much time would one spend adminning and moderating if this site were ten times bigger and with the same level of adultness as our members? just an estimate let's say in manhours a week, and counting the probable 10 x 10 times increase in interaction.

- how much idem, in resolving tech problems?

I ask it since my impression is that a rather small forum (even with ten times the active members we have) shouldn't need a fortune and an immense taskforce to keep it running...

Oh, millions! We'd have to set up a "Pay for the admin's airfare to vist Susan's house with some more crappy unwanted 'gifts'" 'Donate' button! Oh wait, I'm confusing us with another alleged forum!

Well, in actuality there seems to be only around 100 active members now and that means nearly a QUARTER of the members are blimmin admins/assistants! The place is an absolute yawn anyway and most of Susans fans are not there - they don't bother with the rubbish and carrying on at that 'fan' site.
